Make Waves of Kindness: Creating a Ripple Effect Across Gulf Shores City Schools 

Make Waves of Kindness is an inspiring, annual district-wide event dedicated to celebrating how simple acts of kindness can create powerful ripples throughout our community. Founded by a passionate group of parents and educators and anchored within the Department of Exceptional Education, this initiative shines a light on kindness while raising funds to support the academic, social, and emotional success of all students across Gulf Shores City Schools.

Over the years, our students, faculty, and staff have embraced the spirit of kindness, understanding, and acceptance—spreading messages that uplift and unite us all.

Thanks to past campaigns, the Department of Exceptional Education has been able to:

• Provide professional development opportunities for GSCS faculty and staff

• Create sensory boxes for every classroom at Gulf Shores Elementary and Middle School

• Establish the Make Waves of Kindness Grant, available to all faculty and staff to support projects that advance the district’s Core Values

This grant helps educators bring new ideas and compassion-driven initiatives to life, empowering our community to make kindness an everyday practice.
