Set Sail GSCS
Gulf Shores City Schools to launch sailing program; in process of training teachers
It has been a major goal for the past two years to host a US Sailing Small Boat Instructor Certification course at the City of Orange Beach Wind and Water Learning Center. Today that’s finally happening! We are thrilled to have Gulf Shores City Schools teachers and staff learning small boat sailing skills and group management on and off the water. Best of luck to our island neighbors this weekend! It’ll be amazing for our coastal kiddos to add more sailing instructors to their community.

π Sailing Into Learning! β΅
Our incredible sailing teachers from GSHS and GSMS spent the day at the Wind & Water Learning Center in Orange Beach for hands-on, place-based training. Experiences like this not only prepare them for certification—they build teamwork, resilience, and a deep connection to the environment they’ll share with their students.
These passionate educators are committed to bringing meaningful, real-world learning to the classroom (and beyond!), and we’re so proud of the work they’re doing.
π A huge thank you to the team at the City of Orange Beach Wind and Water Learning Center for leading this powerful day of training. What a perfect way to connect learning to the waters that surround us!
