Role of the Gulf Shores City Schools Board of Education
The Gulf Shores City Schools Board of Education serves as the legislative body responsible for establishing policies that govern the operation, control, and maintenance of our local public school system. The implementation and administration of these policies are entrusted to the district’s professional administrative staff.
These policies are intended to serve as a framework and guide for all who are dedicated to maintaining and advancing educational excellence in Gulf Shores.
The Board of Education, in collaboration with Gulf Shores City Schools, maintains an online policy manual that is regularly updated throughout the year. Policy revisions are reviewed at the committee level and require formal approval by the Board to take effect.
We encourage staff, families, and community members to stay informed by referencing the most current policies available online.
