Assistant Principal

Kim Earley

Hi, I am Kim Earley and I am currently the Assistant Principal at Gulf Shores Middle School. This is my 5th year at Gulf Shores Middle School. I taught 15 years in Baldwin County before becoming an administrator, 5th grade and Gifted Middle School (6th,7th, and 8th).  I taught at  Elberta MS and Fairhope MS, respectively. I am very happy to be working with Gulf Shores City Schools as an administrator.

I love my job for many reasons. One reason is that I am very fortunate to work with Mr. Kyle McCartney, the principal. Mr. McCartney is a great principal and mentor for me and our students. He is always on the cutting edge of everything educational, whether it’s the latest technology for our students, or innovative projects in our STEM classes. Our faculty and staff are also the best! We all work well together and accomplish great things to better educate our students.

I grew up in Alabaster, Alabama and moved to Baldwin County with my husband, Mike, in 1984. We have lived in Gulf Shores and I currently reside in Lillian, AL. My son Addison lives in Eagle, Colorado and works as an electrician. My daughter, Kate, also lives there and is going to school to become a paramedic. They both snowboard and hike. I love to travel and love visiting them in Colorado, especially in the summer when we can hike the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I love the outdoors and have a Great Dane named Bonnie and a kitty named Hanzi. We go for a walk every day.

I love writing, reading, cooking and watching a good movie. I also love researching certain subjects and writing about them.

I very much enjoy working at Gulf Shores Middle School. The students are great, and I enjoy seeing them learn and grow every day. Mr. McCartney and I strive to make sure that our Gulf Shores students are the best in every way. They should be respectful, hardworking, and nice to each other. Middle School is a time to learn and grow. Hopefully the things that they learn while here with us will be positive steps toward a happy and productive life.
