The Gulf Shores Board of Education has a non-resident admission policy for admitting students who are not Gulf Shores residents. The policy requires a tuition payment of $1,500 for the first child and $1,000 for each additional child, as well as academic, behavior, and attendance eligibility requirements. Additionally, admission is based on space (capacity). Tuition must be paid in full prior to August 1, 2020. Please be aware that tuition does NOT include school fees, donations, yearbooks, etc. as these will be collected separately at the school level. Full-time employees of GSCS with non-resident students are subject to the Non-Resident Policy but are eligible for a tuition waiver if their child qualifies. Children of full-time employees enrolled during the 2019-2020 school year as non-resident students do not need to re-apply for the 2020-2021 school year.

The application process for non-resident students closes April 30th. Completion of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Notice regarding admission status will be emailed to the address provided on the completed application.
Gulf Shores City Schools offers a Virtual Academy which is open to any qualifying student and is free of charge. $100.00 non-refundable deposit is waived for Virtual Academy. If capacity prevents the acceptance of your child into the traditional educational program, you may wish to consider our Virtual Academy. Non-Resident Application Process
Please READ all information before beginning your application. Complete the Non-Resident Application and Non-Refundable Deposit and submit to Gulf Shores City Schools, along with the following items:
1) Most recent report card/grades from 2019-20 school year.
2) Attendance report from 2019-20 school year.
3) Discipline report from 2019-20 school year.
4) Non-refundable $100.00 registration deposit.* (waived for Virtual Academy)
(You will need to download the application to your computer. Then you can complete the fillable PDF or print a copy and complete. An application will need to be completed for each child applying as a Non-Resident Student in the Gulf Shores City School System.)

*Tuition for non-resident students is $1,500 for the first student and $1,000 for additional siblings. A non-refundable $100.00 deposit is required with each application and will go towards the tuition balance if admission is granted.
